Amazon Prime Air is a future delivery system from Amazon designed to safely get packages into customer's hands in 30 minutes or less using small unmanned aerial vehicles. Amazon Prime Air development centers are located in the United States, United Kingdom, and Isreal. Amazon is also testing in multiple international locations.
Amazon has made a proposal that includes tiered flight zones that would limit small unmanned aircraft systems to slow speeds in airspace below 200 feet and allow them to fly faster for long-distance travel between 200 and 400 feet.
For Amazon to truly get its drone delivery service up and running, it needs permission from the FAA to fly out of sight and over people.
